Does the Qur’an endorse the Bible – Part 2

What does the standard academic reference work on the Qur’an in the English language say about the Qur’an and the previous Scriptures given to Jews and Christians? I have access to the Encyclopaedia of the Qurʾān and I am researching what top Western academics who are specialists in field say about the Qur’an’s view of the previous revelations given to the Jews and Christians.

Does the Qur’an allege corruption, forgery, revision and alteration by the Jews and Christians of the revelations vouchsafed to them by God?

Christian apologists are unanimous in their claim that the Qur’an endorses the Bible we have today. But what do academic specialists (who are not Muslim) say about the matter?

What I have discovered will surprise and shock some people. I will post excerpts from the Encyclopaedia of the Qurʾān on Blogging Theology shortly, God-willing.

I hope debaters and polemicists will take account of this serious scholarly work on the subject in the future.

I quote from articles in ‘The Encyclopaedia of the Qur’ān Online’.
