  1. Paraphrasing, but the broad translation of a verse in the Quran goes something like. Why when الله has decided on a matter do we think we have a choice.

  2. The Ultimate Authority:

Leviticus 20:13. “‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”
Quran 7:81 : Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people.”
Quran 5:87: “O you who have believed, do not prohibit the good things which Allah has made lawful to you and do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors.”
Quran 2:42: “And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].”

  3. Islam puts so much emphasize on establishing a strongly bonded traditional family as its the cornerstone of a strong productive and healthy community …Same sex marriage is strictly prohibited in Islam and is punishable by death as it directly shakes the very foundation upon which that family exist …

    • Where is your evidence it is punishable by death? Or is this your opinion? I’m not saying it’s forbidden or permissible, but there are very few crimes punishable by death, and I don’t think this is one of them.

      • Quran 26:
        165. Do you approach the males of the world?
        166. And forsake the wives your Lord created for you? Indeed, you are intrusive people.”
        167. They said, “Unless you refrain, O Lot, you will be expelled.”
        168. He said, “I certainly deplore your conduct.”
        169. “My Lord, save me and my family from what they do.”
        170. So We saved him and his family, altogether.
        171. Except for an old woman among those who tarried.
        172. Then We destroyed the others.
        173. And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
        174. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

  4. سلام عليكم..
I am having trouble with that..
But its different aspects of it..
The action itself which obviously to me isn’t healthy regarding our Deen..
    Way of Life..
And the human aspects of it..
    Mental health..
New Age thinking of everything is fine if Love so dont judge..
No boundaries really so much Shamelessness..
Or Utopian Bobbles which has some wisdom of retreat.
But we are Living in this World 🌍
And Allah Put us in this World @ This Time.. And its much Blessings of thirst of seeking knowledge.
To rectify ourselves.. Tazkia including our attitude and way of thinking. Of course I been mothering four Kids facing this in Society. I am Listening from Egypt..

  7. There can be many views and interpretations
The Quran says diversity is built into humanity for the purpose of expanding human capacity of compassion and mercy. So, the difference between rich and poor, able and disabled…and other, various differences…. can be a pathway towards a softening of the hearts or of hardening of the hearts. This choice is our responsibility.

Family in modernity is nuclear = Parents/Children. Pre-modernity, The concept of family meant a group of formally related peoples. Therefore, we should not overly burden this concept with our modern-biased presumptions and add to it, elements that it may, perhaps, not have promoted?

Marriage in the Quran has many purposes—but, procreation does not seem to be a main/fundamental purpose…..
    a) affection and mercy (30:21)
    b) comfort and encouragement towards righteousness (25:74)
    c) self-restraint, cover/protection (2:187)
    d)security (7:189)
    e) equality/mutual rights (4:1)
Various cultural norms have influenced Islam over the centuries…and there is nothing wrong with that—but it can create bias…so we must be alert when we attribute norms/concepts to the Quran?

    Quran 26: 165-174 and Quran 7:80-84
In these 2 stories—the group that is “struck down” includes “old lady/Lut’s wife. Unless Luts wife was a bisexual/other..or that “tarrying” is a crime punishable by death….perhaps we need to look at a more broader context? It is our responsibility to choose how we understand/interpret….and a test that the Quran gives us all the time.

Gossip in the Quran is compared to eating the flesh of a brother…(49:12)
It is not appropriate for us Muslim brothers to violate the privacy of another without permission? When sensitive or private topics are opened for discussion/debate….it is better for our own souls that it be done respectfully……?……
