The insults and anger and bravado / chest-thumping demonstrate that Sam is not “Spirit-filled”. He is still wallowing in sinful anger and pugnaciousness (always wanting to fight and argue and insult; bullying tactics) – the Scriptures say he is disqualified and needs to be under church discipline and accountability to a Biblical church. An apologist / missionary / evangelist (Ephesians 4:11-12) must have the same character qualities as an elder-overseer in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5:1-4. Dr. Michael Brown or Anthony Rogers, not even David Wood does that – none of those 3 do what Sam Shamoun did here (the insults, bravado, anger, pugnasiousness, etc.)

But he defends the Deity of Christ and the doctrine of the Trinity.

I have been praying about this issue with Sam and the Lord led me to this verse which dovetails what has already been stated by Ken. I am not reformed but have studied Catholicism to know it strays from Biblical Christianity… today in Timothy. I read from 1Timothy 3:15 to 1Timothy 4:11. And I felt prompted to leave it for Sam here. The Priesthood in Catholic Church with forced celibacy is not of God. Now, even in Lent they forbid the eating of meat.
“ 4 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ”
I have followed Sam for some time, he is knowledgeable in a lot; however I do think that his bullying is an extremely negative characteristic. In fact, I have not shared his broadcast because I find his ungodly, yes I said ungodly insults embarrassing and also psychologically wounding to people that God wants to bring to the Lord. Jesus may have used insults at times, but Catholics are actually much closer to the Pharisees than many of these people seeking knowledge. They still wear long robes and have a long laundry list of child abuse among those white robes.
And there have been too many instances where name calling and derogatory names were simply uncalled for. This does not exemplify the teachings of Jesus that gentleness and anger are not the norm; despite their being exceptions in the word. And I find it abusive of the word of God and even Jesus that he chooses to berate innocent followers because he thinks he is right or needs to garner control of his following.
I do not ascribe to Calvinism nor do I follow John White, I do not know these other commenters. But what I do know is that someone who cannot control their anger is a problem and the Bible says to avoid a man who cannot control it. “Lest you become like him.” And it is frankly a way to frighten followers and they will not be honest with him. Followers cower and what it does is actually repress any true discussion. You cannot be honest with someone who continues to fly off the handle for no reason. I have studied his behavior and he simply lashes out at anyone he perceives as attacking him…or not. It is arbitrary…and this is an extremely unjust and highly negative behavior. It will be his downfall, and it does cause him to lose credibility. And it will cause people and friendships, and other Christian followers to abandon either his podcast, or associations.
While I can understand that he has been through a nasty divorce, this in no way excuses the way he berates followers or other men of God. And many of the things I have seen here especially in relation to Ken are just saddening, Ken even tried to call him to speak with him on a podcast and he refused.
Big men do not berate others for no reason, and I fear that this segueway into Catholicism is in error. I do believe that Sam needs inner healing and deliverance from some demonic strongholds as I do not think these things are from God or the Holy Spirit. And I do think that Ken’s criticisms are actually what might save Sam’s career if it is not already too late.
How many people does it take to correct a brother? The Bible says that someone who continually remains stiff necked will pay a heavy price. This is one where being humble and having some self reflection will help everyone involved. I would encourage Sam to take criticism with a grain of salt and listen to what are actually words of wisdom…There is no need to accuse, and no need to argue, there is no need to name call. It has the opposite effect, it makes Sam’s followers lose respect for him. And rightly so. He acts as an abuser, this is how abusive husbands behave or abusive fathers. He is an example not only to young men and women following him, but to Christians or Muslims seeking to learn the gospel.
He is an example to his own daughters, I would not want to have a father who speaks that way to me, a father who will snap and insult me at a moments notice. It is terrifying, wounding and destructive. It is needless. How many people have to come forward and say something Sam? When are you going to realize that people are gently trying to stop you from self destructing? where is the level of what is appropriate here? In how you speak to another person? Do you think if a judge looked at how you have spoken to people on your show, he would want or trust you around young girls? Not if you use abusive language. It won’t happen.
Either humble yourself and self reflect or forfeit your dignity. And perhaps your life. “ He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.” proverbs 29:1 and

Are you sent out by a local church after being affirmed and confirmed by that local Biblical church? Do you have any accountability to local church authorities? (pastor, elders)
Acts 13:1-4 – Paul and Barnabas had to be first sent out by a local church, they laid their hands on them and sent them out to do ministry. You like Acts 13:9-10, but you skipped Acts 13:1-4.
Ephesians 4:11-12 – evangelists must be sent out by a local church and have godly and holy character. (Titus 1, 1 Timothy 3) There is nothing there about a professional “apologist” who just answers questions and that is is; – answering all the issues in anger and insult and bullying tactics. There is much more about character and how we handle people that makes for proper evangelists and missionaries.

The passages you use to make yourself feel good about your insult-method, like Acts 13:9-10, etc. – 3 problems with you using those verses and others like them to justify yourself:
1. They are historical narrative; what happened; they are not teaching us that we have authority to do the same things to people. Nowhere in teaching / didactic passages does the NT give us the right to do that to people the way you do.
2. Jesus is the perfect Son of God and knows human hearts! (and Paul had that authority as an apostle) and Jesus knew the hearts of the Pharisees, etc. (John 2:24-25; John 8, Matthew 23, etc.

I appreciate the care and time you have taken to try to encourage Sam. He should listen. You have done much research and effort into teaching him scripture which is very sound teaching. I believe he is blessed to have you as a friend. And I believe he would be wise to listen and turn down panic mode.
Ken I pray you forgive Sam for his ugly reaction, but I don’t think you care as much as Sam thinks because I think you are very knowledgeable and you also have a gentle, fatherly spirit. I believe Sam is under spiritual bondage…You haven’t given up on Sam even though a lot of people have. And it shows that you care about him enough to tell him the truth and everyone needs a friend like this.
I don’t know how long Sam has been a Christian. I believe that his deliverance from Islam affects his perception of the Bible. And I feel that the religious accoutrements of Catholicism feels more comfortable because of this. James White has men around him that check him and not many narcissists have men who check them. On the contrary narcissists are more likely to have a solo show where they refuse to maintain friendships because they cannot stand disagreement or correction. There are many examples of men who refused correction and lost everything or did not heed the wise men around them and also lost what they had worked hard to earn.
I think Ken is right and I will pray for Sam to find a church with older men and elders who can Shepard him and counsel him.
I think in Islam there is a lot of emphasis here with a patriarchal system and I believe it is what is partially missing here. Sam doesn’t have to be Calvinist but he needs a church with men of God who can support him all the time as friends and offer guidance. Which maybe more of what he needs than therapy but counsel from elders.
I don’t think it is wise for Sam, to divulge the issues of his life because the Bible says to “guard the heart for out of it flows the issues of life” and I believe he needs to have a church where he can get counsel through good brothers, so he doesn’t feel the need to let out his heart online. I think that many isolated people use YouTube channels for this and it ends up being a double edged sword.
…perhaps White is a narcissist and perhaps he isn’t but it doesn’t help anyone. Many leaders are and those who speak the spotlight.
I think Sam that your genuine prayers maybe being answered just not the way you thought they would be. The question is will you let God mold you?

Please don’t test God in this. Ken has given you many scriptures. No one expects you to change overnight but for your own sake and the sake of your livelihood stop the bullying of your flock.
Continue to pray for your deliverance- be sure you will be delivered from these things that can destroy you. It is a form of bondage that God is breaking over your life.
That being said; I am not Catholic or a Calvinist and I have arguments against both. However while I see that there is scriptural evidence for Calvinism that can be debated; it seems that there is a argument on how to define theological issues mainly dependent upon already present scriptures.
I don’t think that Catholicism has this same support…and I feel that despite my disagreements with Calvinists I do see their genuine effort to lead moral lives, on the other hand; I feel that Catholics tend to water down the power of the gospel by adding tradition. Which is not a bad thing; but certainly should not be taken with the same seriousness or infallibility of scripture. They also add many religious things that can end up imitating or even being like witchcraft.
The same could be said today of many churches and even with insights from either school of thought (as well as orthodox,) to make decisions on scripture by adding to it in such a manner-by claiming one is in authority to represent God, I.e the popes…priests…is not scriptural. Especially to absolve sin. Only Jesus can absolve sin.
Sam has prayed to be in line with the thoughts of God; and at the end I will pray a deliverance prayer over him. because he has been begging God to help him
and I truly believe that Mr. Ken Temple you are not stalking him, trying to control him, nor or are at fault here. I believe you are right and Sam is struggling with this.
So let us encourage him to read the words that you sent him for his own sake and to listen. I do not appreciate the way he has spoken to you and feel that he is way out of line. Enough to say if it continues perhaps you should seek legal counsel. He has verbally berated you and attributed motives which are not there. It is slander, but you are not the one slandering. There are many hours of Sam’s outright abuse of people online that needs to stop. And it is not “debates” it is the definition of unkindness and bullying; but the problem is bullies won’t stop if you don’t stand up to them.
There are teens and kids who follow Sam, and plenty of people have experienced verbal abuse but don’t abuse others, it needs to stop. And if it Sam is clearly getting warnings and has already.
The reason the Muslim men have anything to say is that his temper went far enough for him to share that he beat his wife. This should Not have been shared, but verbal and unjustifiable attacks on others is only a predecessor to physical abuse, and it destroys marriages.
Jesus does not want any woman to stay in marriage with abuse; physical or emotional.
No matter who is at fault a man who cannot control himself and has a history of beating women, shouldn’t not be around little girls he is authority over. If he cannot be trusted to calm down and control his temper. Start proving you can control your mouth Sam. Or you will not getting custody or visitation, no realistic judge will let you do this with even uncalled for cursing or outbursts that are directed at grown men. Control yourself or reap the rewards of the seeds you plant.
So perhaps legal action or the threat of it will stop someone from abusing good people unjustly. Again Sam; any court of Law that sees or hears your threats to your followers will affect a custody case or visiting rights. It’s in your best interest to straighten up and fly right.
If you need therapy get therapy. The Bible says there is “success with the counsel of many.”
Ken your intentions to help him I perceive as an excellent way to reveal to him the refining process we are all going through in sanctification through life. We are all sinners, none of us is righteous. Romans 3:23 “ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;“
(This is also a verse that refutes the evidence of Mary as sinless. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Mary was sinless. And there was a mistranslation from the Latin Vulgate which is where the “full of grace” phrase comes from.)
It also specifically says not to pray to the dead, despite the mental gymnastics Catholics use for this argument. Do you realize what happened to Saul when he contacted the dead in the Bible? He lost his kingdom, sanity and life.
Catholics “Hail Mary” and I think Sam this is extremely similar to praying to Muhammad before praying to Allah. Which CP has stated before is Mohammed’s secret way of being worshipped and he is dead too.
There is a school of thought that also says the “queen of heaven” is a demonic being…from revelation…and again I believe that Catholics are Christian, but I am not so certain that they don’t pray to a dead spirit who is not the spirit of Mary, but another…and the gruesome miracles we have seen and apparitions…may not be the spirit of Mary at all…but one of an “Angel of light” and there is no way of knowing this unless the spirit confesses Jesus as Lord.
Don’t get me wrong I believe that she was blessed and favored by God and I too weep at what she experienced watching her son die on the cross. And for those of us who have experienced great pain and loss, we know that her suffering was her cross to bear.
But the truth is that adding to the Bible is strictly forbidden. Duet. 4:2 “ Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.” And Revelation 22:18-19
“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll:If anyone adds anything to them,God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll.And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.”
The authority of the Catholic Church lies on one verse, the verse that gives the keys of authority to Peter. But the there is a difference between a small Rock and a large one in the Greek. This realization in translation has converted many priests into Protestants and should be of interest to Sam. Since he is interested in the truthful exegesis of scripture.
The passage is from Matthew 16:18-19,
“ ( in the) Greek text you will find that the word Peter and the word Rock on which Christ was to build His church are two separate and distinct words, each having a different meaning. The word Peter in Greek is petros, which means “a piece of rock; a stone; a single stone; movable, insecure, shifting, or rolling.” The word rock is petra, which means “a rock; a cliff; a projecting rock; mother rock; huge mass; solid formation; fixed; immovable; enduring.”
They were literally standing on a cliff. The Bible nowhere states that despite Mary’s beauty as worshipfulness as she is sinless. It literally states that no one is without sin on earth or ever will be except for Christ…
And it is in error to think that the men who do believe in Jesus; with these sincere beliefs cannot be fallible. They can sincerely love Jesus and sincerely want to honor God and still be in error as well as be saved. And I believe that Catholics are saved. I believe Orthodox and Calvinist are saved because they confess Jesus as Lord. It is not for me to say if they fulfill the belief of salvation even if they are partially wrong.
But I think Catholics water down scripture by adding to it. And I’m not saying all their insights are wrong or bad, but I believe that all of us even without a church are accountable to God, and none of us get the interpretation of scripture 100% correct.
But I do believe that straying from what it actually says and making it church dogma is wrong. There is no evidence for Mary remaining a virgin, in fact the Bible clearly says Jesus had brothers and sisters.
I believe Mary was chosen and that she was a sinless vessel…who also had a natural birth… her conception was based on the Holy Spirit and while she was an appropriate vessel, the Holy Spirit and its anointing is what makes us Holy and sinless.
I don’t believe her virginity was taken when she gave birth because virginity is defined as having sex, and I disagree with White on this.
TMI here ( Even going through a vaginal birth would tear the hyman…this would not not make you not a virgin….intercourse does. The hyman can be torn in girls by doing yard-work or playing sports…it doesn’t make them not a virgin. Mary was not defiled, or not a virgin after the birth of Christ, but it doesn’t mean she didn’t go on to lead a normal life. This is all added by Catholic dogma as well as her ascension)
And Jesus rebuked Mary when she asked him to turn water into wine, why did she need rebuking? He did what was asked of him, but it was before his time…and he corrected her. If she was sinless why did he correct her?
Anyway Sam realizes how much this matters and I believe he has asked God to reveal to him what the truth in doctrine is. Well here it is. I believe you have two people who care enough to show you what the correct perception of scripture is in a gentle way. I believe that Sam will one day realize this whether or not he does now. I believe that he has been making the right steps by asking for deliverance and I will pray for him now.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the courts of heaven now with the blood of Jesus covering me, it says that we are take into your courts Lord as we pray, and are seated in the Holy of Holies with you. God you are the divine judge over our lives and right now I come in in agreement with the prayers that Ken has prayed for Sam, and I pray for Sam now.
I pray Lord that you will overturn the accusations the enemy has over Sam’s life now. I pray that you will deliver him completely from the evil that has taken his life and family and children. The enemy has taken so much from him and I know it is because he is searching and dedicated his life to you.
Right now I ask that you would overturn any judgments or curses over his life now in Jesus name. And that your divine will and judgment would be renewed over his life, that you would have mercy on him. That the blood of Jesus covers all his sins.
And he is forgiven of any sins his father committed or his mother and anyone on either side of his family going back into a hundred generations. And you would break any curse over his life now. We ask for forgiveness and renounce any sin known and unknown from his family line….Including curses designed to punish him for things he has not done, in Jesus name.
Father I ask you now to send your angels to Sam, to minister to him. And I ask that you would send him a new wife and allow him to be a father to his children. I ask in the name of Jesus that you would deliver him from all the plans and attacks of the enemy against his life and character now, in Jesus name.
In Jesus name I take the authority that I have through the blood of Jesus and I rebuke and bind every evil creeping thing in Sam’s life. I come against every spirit of deceit now, every dark thing in Jesus name. The Lord rebuke you Satan in Jesus name.
In Jesus name I come against every spirit of wrath, anger, hatred unforgiveness, spirits of Islam or witchcraft and rebuke you and bind you now in Jesus name. I come against spirits of slander, gossip, accusation and the spirit of profanity now in Jesus name…I come against the spirit of bullying and domestic violence in Jesus name. The Lord rebuke you Satan.
You have no power over him, I come against every religious spirit that interferes with his relationship between people, and other ministries now. I break and bind everything evil coming against him now. And I command all the attacks against his mind to cease and desist now in Jesus name.
Lord it says in your word that with you we will have a spirit of love and a sound mind. I ask you to give Sam a sound mind and spirit and I come against depression, oppression, grief and sadness in Jesus name. I ask that you would anoint Sam with the blood, but most importantly that you would fill him with your Spirit now. Fill him with your Holy Spirit and let him be healed and direct him in the way of truth forevermore in Jesus holy and precious name.
Abba Father I ask you to do this for Sam now, that I intercede for him and his family so that you maybe glorified for Sam’s life and no one else no saint, no martyr and no man other than Jesus will be glorified as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord’s amen.

Dear Heavenly Father I ask you to give Sam the resources for his children in Jesus name and that you would not allow him to be destroyed financially. Lord Jesus I ask that you would help him to receive enough resources to cover the costs of his cases and also to be blessed by you financially. I ask you for a miracle in his life for finances and to bring him the right people to debate and to create programs with. Protect him from people who seek his life and protect him from disasters. Strengthen his following and bring in men or women who are prepared to leave Islam or other false belief systems he can have enjoyable dialogues with. I thank you for Sam and his ability to be strong and faithful, Lord. May you bless him in every way and help him not to hold grudges against people who don’t deserve it or even those that do. Heal
his relationships with others and Help him to forgive his wife and Ken and stop speaking Ill of them, even if he feels betrayed. Lord Jesus I ask you to give him the right words for every situation and to be known as a man of God and one of Peace and Understanding, Lord. I ask you to give him a greater emotional intelligence and a unique ability to understand other people. Please help him to stay in shape and give him the resources to eat right and exercise, bless him for blessing those he has helped and help him to forgive those who criticize him or those used by the enemy. Help him to discern right from wrong and lift him up in his times of need. Help him to be merciful to others, as Jesus has been merciful to us…even when Peter cut the ear of the guard Lord, you healed his ear. And surely even the Roman soldiers who crucified Christ were saved. For we bless those who curse us, we do good to those who despitefully use us and say all manner of evil against us. And not by might but by your Spirit oh Lord. We love because he first loved us and let us be merciful and kind to those who need us in spite of conflict. Help us not to have strife in the body of Christ but unify us against the enemy of our souls and help Sam to use his gifting of humor and joy to lead people to you Lord, please bless his platform with the positive and take away the negative and give him the ability to manage his followers without scolding them. Thank you that he finally bought some collared shirts that fit and bless him with a new microphone give him good editing equipment or even an editor for his videos. So he can be professional and gain more of an income to support his family. Bless him when he honors you Lord and obeys the greatest commands to love the Lord with all your heart mind and spirit and to love your neighbor as yourself… and heal his heart from the unjust experiences he has had, May all that has been stolen from him be returned 7 fold…In Jesus name.
