  1. I have added subtitles in 25 languages including Arabic, Malay, Indonesian, French, German, Dutch, Russian and Persian.

  2. The Song of Solomon is basically a commentary on romantic love within marriage and extended love poem for married couples, an extended commentary on Genesis 2:24-25 and Proverbs 5:18-19

“they were naked and not ashamed”

There is nothing shameful about sex within marriage – between a man and a woman.

“For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked, but they were not ashamed.”
    Genesis 2:24-25

God created sex and marriage and males and females – “God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve” is still true.

Those that interpret the Song of Solomon as a total allegory of God’s love for His people and not about the physical blessings of romantic and sexual love within marriage – they went astray, beginning with Origen and Augustine and Jerome and others (because they were embarrassed and ashamed about sex).

But, as a secondary fulfillment, it is typology of God’s love for the Church (His Church, all the redeemed from all nations – Ephesians 5:25 – Christ laid His life down for the Church, some people from all nations, languages, cultures, peoples, tribes – Rev. 5:9; 7:9.

Typology is different than allegory as to every detail.

Song of Solomon is wisdom literature – wisdom for marriage.

Also, the Jewish tradition is that no single man should read this until he gets married.

It is God’s approval of sex within marriage (one man and one woman). God created sex and commands it is reserved for marriage. Proverbs 5:18-19; 1 Corinthians chapter 7; Ephesians 5

  3. Hey Paul,
    Are you fasting for Ramadan?

Wondering why there is not much going on here. I assume the Muslim commentators have decided to take a break and focus on Ramadan, fasting, concentration, prayer, etc.

But you said you are no longer a Muslim. (although your videos seem to indicate that you are, you just don’t like some aspects of the tribal mentality of many / most Muslims (your take).

    Did you return to Islam?

  4. Ephesians 5:25-32 calls marriage a “profound mystery” (5:31), and is suppossed to be an illustration of Christ’s love for the Church; thus demonstrating it goes back into eternity of Christ’s love. But the physical descriptions in SoS are not about Christ and the Church; rather the over-all principle is that a husband should lay his life down for his wife, just as Christ loved the Church.
