I have access to the Encyclopaedia of the Qurʾān which is the standard academic reference work on the Qur’an in the English language. It is behind a paywall. I am in the process of downloading articles as PDFs to my computer.
I am researching what top Western academics who are specialists in field say about the Qur’an’s view of the previous revelations given to the Jews and Christians. Does the Qur’an allege corruption, forgery, revision and alteration by the Jews and Christians of the revelations vouchsafed to them by God?
Christian apologists are unanimous in their claim that the Qur’an endorses the Bible we have today. But what do academic specialists (who are not Muslim) say about the matter?
What I have discovered will surprise and shock some people. I will post excerpts from the Encyclopaedia of the Qurʾān shortly, God-willing.
I hope debaters and polemicists will take account of this serious scholarly work on the subject in future.

One of the main problems I see, is that if (I don’t know, maybe Paul can tell us, after he pays for it all and downloads it all) it limits itself to only the Qur’an, and does not include AHadith, Tarikh, Sira, Tafsirs, Fiq, Mazhabs, etc. – it will not give the full understanding of Islam as a whole and how Islam has sought to conquer the world in history, until it has been stopped by self-defensive wars. (Jihadism, Caliphate, Surah 9:28-30; Dimmi-ism, Dar Al Harb vs. Dar Al Islam, fitneh (rebellion, mutiny, chaos, tumult), Sharia, laws vs. apostasy and economic system, etc.)

Do Muslim scholars in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco, Sudan, etc. even respect such a volume spear headed by a western woman scholar?
I have no problem with that and the west has no problem with this, but I wonder if the man-dominated world of Muslim countries would even respect such a work as this?

Yes, I think they would have a problem with a woman scholar of Islam; women are not allowed to be leaders in Islam.

Leaders in what sense? The ultimate head sure but anything lower than that is debated. Leaders are not the same as scholars and like I said even if they did that would not reflect on Islam which supports the and celebrates the endeavors of women to become scholars.

What makes you think that an analysis of the Quran in light of the hadith, etc. would lead the scholars such as Angelika Neuwirth, Nicolai Sinai, etc., to come to the same conclusions as your’s?
