I have been studying the Talmud recently and I have just had this book delivered on Jesus in the Talmud. I learn that older scholarship had discounted references to Talmudic stories of Jesus as unreliable distortions but this new work suggests a much more deliberate agenda behind these narratives. The author, Peter Schäfer, is professor of Judaic Studies at Princeton University.
