Updated Article – On Rabbits and Rumination: A Response to Christian Interpretations of Leviticus 11:5-6

The Quran and Bible Blog

As-salaam alaikum. I have updated one of my favorite articles on errors in the Bible, the one that began Sam Shamoun’s obsession with me (haha hehe): “On Rabbits and Rumination: A Response to Christian Interpretations of Leviticus 11:5-6“. Some new references have been added, including Jewish commentaries and some scientific publications. The additional sources are, in my opinion, devastating to the Christian apologetic arguments.

In addition to the update, I will also be publishing a video summary on YouTube, inshaAllah.

  1. Chewing the cud is just one kind of lets say, digestive mechanism, which was exhibited by these animals in common. It doesn’t have to be restricted to this particular type of behaviour. Different animals do it in different ways. So the bible takes this one kind of mechanism and translates the word with this behaviour for each animal indiscriminately. Why, because this is the variation which most people are familiar with.

Hares do it too don’t you know?

“And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.”

    • 🤦‍♂️ This is why Iggy is a joke. I mean seriously. Is this the best Christianity has to offer? Ignorant buffoons using circular arguments and scientific illiteracy?

The Bible is wrong in applying cud chewing to rabbits. And Christian apologists are inconsistent in their excuses. Please, go back to school Iggy. You are an uneducated fool. 🤣
