Daniel Haqiqatjou writes:
“I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage.”
-Presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2008.
“Marriage has got historic, religious and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time, and I think a marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and woman.” -Hillary Clinton in 2000
Clinton did not support gay marriage until 2013.
In 2006, Bernie Sanders was asked by a journalist whether Vermont should legalize same-sex marriage. He said, “Not right now.”
Sanders did not support gay marriage until 2009.
Nowadays these politicians are dancing in gay pride parades and participating in “LGBT townhalls,” joking about how primitive and backwards anyone who doesn’t embrace the trans queer bisexual lifestyle is.
And you have confused Muslims and “Islamic” research institutes who want to argue that the ONLY sensible political stance Muslims can adopt is, and I quote: “Affirming and advocating many LGBT rights.”
In other words, you have self proclaimed “scholars” and “upholders of true Islam” more eager in their support of homosexuality and transgenderism than left wing politicians from *just* 7-10 years ago.
In other words, Muslims should base their political morality, not on timeless Islamic values and clear cut principles of the Quran and Sunna, but on whatever the Democratic party opportunistically decided 7-10 years ago on what would win it more votes.
Let that sink in.
To those confused Muslims who have been shamelessly promoting the LGBT rights agenda and allying with the left for the past decade, you already look quite foolish and shortsighted in the eyes of the average Muslim.
In 3 years or less, as left wing politics becomes more aggressive and intolerant towards religion, you’re going to look complicit in foisting an anti-Islamic ideology onto the community and using scare tactics like “OMG if we don’t support alphabet rights, we will be thrown into camps,” to manipulate believers.
And you can count on the community keeping the receipts.
