What is weird is that the fire chief was fired by a Muslim mayor Mohammed Kasim Reed, though he is obviously a liberal Muslim .

He is not Muslim. His father thought of becming Muslim and gave him that name but he identifies as a Chrsitian:

Probably because Right wing conservative Christians are majority racist hilbillies who quick to blame any and everything on Muslims even when they agree with them and just tried to support them. But that’s just my theory…
There are some who are racists and hillbillies, but not the majority. It is a political tactic (that works in the media) to blame everything on racism, and mix homosexuality, abortion, transgenderism into the mix and use leftist Marxist tactics to shut down discussion and blame everything on “white supremacy”, or “white privilege”, etc. these days.
