11 Surely, this commandment that I am commanding you today is not too hard for you, nor is it too far away. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, “Who will go up to heaven for us, and get it for us so that we may hear it and observe it?” 13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who will cross to the other side of the sea for us, and get it for us so that we may hear it and observe it?” 14 No, the word is very near to you; it is in your mouth and in your heart for you to observe.
Hellenistic culture no doubt influenced Christianity’s eventual separation from Judaism with regards to the laws of the Torah. With so many Gentiles entering the religion, following the Jewish laws would have been difficult, which is why the Gentile church gradually pulled itself away. But then, Jesus was only sent to the Jews anyway, not to Gentiles. That of course did not mean that a pagan Roman could become a follower of Jesus, just like some Egyptians followed Moses. But doing so would have meant not only shunning idolatry and polytheism but also embracing the laws of God. Sadly, the Gentile church embraced a heretical view of the law and led itself astray.
And Kenny has been refuted on this matter many times. I always point to Ezekiel and how the temple laws will be reinstated. I have yet to hear a reasonable response from Christians for how this fits into the Christian narrative. Ezekiel is clearly an apocalyptic book. It refers to the war of Gog and Magog. This contradicts the Christian narrative.
None of the passages you quoted negate that the Torah is easy to follow:
And the LORD said to Moses, “You will soon rest with your fathers, and these people will rise up and prostitute themselves with the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake Me and break the covenant I have made with them. (Deuteronomy 31:16)
For I know that after my death you are sure to become utterly corrupt and to turn from the way I have commanded you. In days to come, disaster will fall on you because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD and arouse his anger by what your hands have made.” (Deuteronomy 31:29)
Yes, the Torah can be followed but Moses(ad) says the Jews will be wicked and break the Covenant with their idolatry (shirk), killing the prophets and changing the Torah. All we Muslims can do is thank the Jews for testifying against themselves about their evil. Which brings us to the next verse
But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD, for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your rebellion or your sins. (Joshua 24:19)
Let’s read the “context”:
14Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and truth; cast aside the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15But if it is unpleasing in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD!”
16The people replied, “Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods!…We too will serve the LORD, because He is our God!” (Joshua 24:14-17)
But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD, for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your rebellion or your sins. (Joshua 24:19)
Joshua(as) is again saying the same thing: “You Jews are evil and will commit idolatry” and notice the highlighted part: “Me and My house will serve the Lord!” Meaning it is POSSIBLE to do so and I and my family are true to our word and the agreement we are making today.
So can we go ahead and close the discussion that Paul of Tarsus (see I got you Paul of England) was talking out his back pocket regarding the Torah being garbage that nobody can follow it?
Deuteronomy 30

I’m just anticipating the incoming from Ken..
You mean…”blah, blah, blah”?
I already refuted you on this passage many times over the years.
Deuteronomy 31:16
Deuteronomy 31:29
Joshua 24:19
lol that’s not an argument Ken.
The Jews know the Torah better than you who have never lived according to its commandments.
This man has. He is a living refutation.
I told you the blah, blah, blah was coming.

@ Paul
Don’t be so modest WE all are living refutation as WE believe like the Jews in this matter and follow God’s law.
@ Everyone
