In praise of Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah, rahimahullah

The Yale University dissertation by Dr Yasir Qadhi – An Analytical Study of Ibn Taymiyya’s Dar’ al-ta’arud – is full of gems, too many to list here. Ibn Taymiyyah (or Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah, rahimahullah, as I now gladly call him) possessed an extraordinary mind, combining brilliant subtly and great intellectual power.

His polemics against the famous Fakhr ad-Dīn ar-Rāzī, the Asharites, Mutazilites, Falasifa and Sufis are compelling, even devastating.  He was a true reviver of the Deen.
