This is actually one hell of an admission which I’m sure is accurate. Recall that even Oscar Wilde was married with 2 children. Matthew Parris was a Conservative MP under Margaret Thatcher (so to speak). For many ‘gay’ men it seems being gay is a choice after all.
But shush don’t tell anyone..

*shrug* even if true for some gay people (and if it involves concerted effort to deny their true nature then one wonders if that’s truly a choice), does it seem even remotely likely in even a sizeable minority of cases, let alone a majority? How many members of the LGBT community choose to face all of the stigma and abuse that goes with being gay?
what do you know about being gay in London? Nothing I suspect. They are not victims anymore. Many could marry and have children in reality. Its the great unspoken secret. Bet you didn’t know that.
It’s peculiar that you bring up London as though only London and the experiences of homosexuals in London is relevant. Nor is the fact that homosexuals marry the opposite sex an indication of choice, but instead social pressure to conform. I bet you *did* know that, but it doesn’t fit your narrative.
Swinging back to London, what makes you think gays in London are free from persecution and bigotry? Do you speak for them all?
I mention London because that is where Matthew Parris lives and its the gay scene he is referring to. You follow an out of date PC narrative that is ill at ease with the realities of gay experience. You live in the world of the 1970s.
A bit of humility on your part wouldn’t go amiss 😉
So now Parris speaks for all of London’s gay people? Moreover, London is not the be-all and end-all of experiences. Perhaps you should try broadening your experience?
yes dear. Bye bye
I’ll take your remark as a concession 🙂 thank you darling.
